I was recently a vendor at the Dirty Rotten Bikerfest—and what a great time we had. Toward evening as it was starting to get dark, a couple came up and bought a few things, a “Fawkinnae Let’s Have a Beer!” t-shirt for her son and a women’s “Fawkinnae Let’s Ride” pink hoodie for her—for Mother’s Day. We had a great time talking and they mentioned that one of their friends had one of my bumper stickers. I asked where he had gotten it thinking I had probably met him at the Eelpout Festival or maybe the Chili Feed, two of my favorite events. The guy said, “I don’t know, I’ll call him.” He get’s off the phone and says, “He works at a recycling center that recycles used appliances. A refrigerator was dropped off with the sticker on it, and he took the time to peel the sticker off the refrigerator (no simple task). It is now displayed proudly in his Man Cave. Of course we all let out a collective FAW-KINN-AE!
I am rarely surprised by where these crazy fun bumper stickers end up, but that was Fawkin’ funny! If you have a good Fawkinnae story I would love to hear it. And if you need a fresh bumper sticker, send me an e-mail at doug@fawkinnae.com with your address and I will get one to you (while supply lasts).
